Vauxhall Oil
« on: November 29, 2014, 10:34:30 AM »
Hi all

Yesterday I had a look at the dip stick. Although it has only been 6 k miles since last service and that the oil is at the full level, the oil looks very dirty. Last year at Halfords sale, I bought quite a lot of Vauxhall Oil as an impulse buy. Never got to use it as instead of vauxhall I bought the honda. Can I use this oil in the Jazz? How about if I only want to use it for 5K mile changes?

Thanks

Edit:

I think it was £10 or less for a 4 litre bottle in the boxing day sale

Edit 2: I have changed the title and substance to reflect vauxhall instead of ford. Sorry for being so blind.

It says Vauxhall / Opel on the label - 5W-30 oil will be fine for the Jazz and its fully synth.

IMHO Ford A1 spec 5W-30 fully synth is one of the best oils for a Jazz - and about £25 / 4 litres normally.

Handbook says: ‘‘ACEA A1/B1,’’ ‘‘ACEA A3/B3,’’ or ‘‘ACEA A5/B5.’’

0W-30 , 5W-30 viscosity is fine.

Back label seems to tick those boxes.

Been running mine on this for the last 3 changes.
Don't panic about names, learn to look for the codes. Check out that usefull link culzean posted.

I got it ages back when it was on a crazy offer, I got 2 boxes of the stuff i think.

If it's getting mucky it's doing its job.
