Spare / Available feed for Ignition switch
« on: September 24, 2013, 09:21:49 PM »
Hi,

I'm just about to embark on a project to install some DRLs onto my my2006 Jazz, but I need to locate a good place for a +ve connection that is ignition fed. ie only becomes live when the ignition is turned on.

Has anyone any ideas?

Many Thanks,

GG

Check in the fusebox.  There are several cables that only become live on ignition.  But are they also not supposed to run when the regular lights are on?  You will need to fit a relay to disable the DRLs when the lights are on.  I am pretty sure you will find all the connections there

Thanks Chris.

Had a good look around and in the end decided to take a splice off the ignition feed having removed the cowling. Yes indeed, I used a relay to ensure that when I turn on the side lights, the drls go off. All in all i'm very pleased. I'll try to upload a pic
