Strange marks on hood

Hi,
bought a new black Jazz SE a few months ago. This weekend I gave it a thorough wash down and noticed strange marks beneath the lacquer. Now this is hard to describe, but look like two rows of dashes following each other for a couple of feet. This is also on another part of the hood. Any advice, do I need to return it to the garage for seller to deal with.

 Just been told these marks were from a circular polisher. Is this something that should be rectified by the sellers?

If it is self-inflicted, I doubt it.  Does it not disappear with a good wax polish?

Was the car brand new? If the marks were really created by polishing and you've never polished it then take it up with the dealer. Could be that some slight transit damage was "polished out" before you picked it up.

If it's a used car but new to you then it's impossible to say who did the polishing so you're a little stuck...

No it was brand new. Never polished other than by hand. When the sun shines on it there is definite rotary swirls and the markings are not moved by polishing.

Maybe something got spilled on it, or some bird poo wasn't washed off quickly enough
