New car tomorrow
« on: November 16, 2022, 12:02:58 PM »
Same again in Midnight Blue. Getting 5 year service plan and Autoglym LifeShine complete vehicle protection system as part of super deal. Car insurance rebate of nearly £18 when I expected slight increase which is a surprise. Dealer says only supplied with a manual now. No service book or nice black folder. Service book online now which I don’t agree with.

Digital Service Record seems to be the way now.

I wonder how this works if you go indy servicing ?

Keep the receipts I suppose.
Let's be careful out there !

An Independent repairer can register with Honda and provide the necessary documents to apply the service to the Digital Service Record

Got my car this morning and looks great with Premium Pack. There was a three month wait to get it as I ordered mid August. Next batch is due April the dealer said. Prices going up too.

VIN 10th char is P so year is 2023.

Kremmen, it will be in my garage most of the time. Only did 2,800 miles since September last year in car I just handed in.

Sounds like mine.

I've only done just under 3,000 since last Sep. Always parked in a heated, dehumidified garage and only comes out if the roads are clean and dry. Still in showroom condition.

Let's be careful out there !

Ours has done 8000 miles since September last year. Sometimes didn't look really white, most dirty it was in winter.
And yes, when we need or want to use the Jazz, we drive through sun, rain, snow or whatever the weather is like at the time. That's what we bought it for. Shopping, fun outings, family visits, vacations, etc.
It serves us well and that is why we take good care of it. It gets its maintenance on time, occasionally it is also washed and vacuumed and then it looks like it came straight from the showroom: like new (while it is used quite a bit).
I hope it will still serve is for many years (and miles) to come!
If nothing goes right, go left!

I have had mine since September, covering just over 3000 miles. I got the 5 year warranty and service with it, as this will probably be our last car. Previous to the Jazz, we had only had Renaults (12 going back over the years). The decision to buy the Jazz was based on the reviews, Honda's reliability, the Hybrid technology and because we thought the Jazz would be a better long term prospect than another Renault. It's in Midnight blue, and lives on the driveway. We drive it in all weathers, and it gets a good wash and clean once a month. So far, it has been great and we love its easy driveability. We have become familiar with its little idiosyncrasies, and find it a pleasure to drive to the shops, or long distances happily sitting at 70 on the motorway. The only bug bear I can think of though, is how the back windscreen area becomes very dirty quickly during wet driving.

My amateur theory on this is that the rear airflow is computer designed to provide a tiny 'push' on the back to help MPG.

A knock-on effect is that all the dirt gets dragged in with it.

..... however, my old 1969 Mini was just the same and I doubt that was computer airflow designed.
Let's be careful out there !

More likely drawn on the back of a cigarette packet.  Ford had a better idea with the rear sloping window on the anglia 105E  (my first car) . That probably took a whole paper napkin to design. (assuming we had  paper napkins in the 1950's.I'm too young to remember  ;) but I do remember cigarette packets had a sliding tray that made a good cardboard  jotter  .

Cars were unique in those days and some were well designed.

Cresta and Velox PA with wraparound windscreen
MK1 Consul, Zephyr, Zodiac
Anglia 105, as you say, with it's big brother the Consul Classic
Series 1 Capri, not the better known 1969 job.
Let's be careful out there !

Enjoy your new car. Identical to mine. Midnight blue a great colour (when it's clean!).

The digital service record must be a new thing - got my car in October last year and it has a service book which the dealer stamped after the service. I still haven't done 3,000 miles!

Be interested to see how the Life Shine holds up. Did you get a bag of autoglym goodies?

Re the service book I queried where it was when I collected the car and was told it was digital only, then when I put it in for it's first service they gave me one, nicely stamped etc.
