Car won't start
« on: October 12, 2022, 12:21:32 PM »
Hi I've just fitted a folding door module on my car now it won't start, I removed it now and it just says to check system error message and it won't start. If anyone knows what it could be

Low battery due to short circuit ?
Let's be careful out there !

As with any remote solutions, check the last job, including check what does worked horn wipers lights, then turn everything off read battery voltage if less than 12.5v then charge up. But always go over the last job first you are likely to find the cause, good luck

Thank you for your advice, seems everything works, I got my obd2 reader and it won't connect to the ecu, I think it's gone in safe mode preventing me from starting it up, I just get a check system message. It sounds healthy enough with turning over but it just won't start.

Assuming you have the radio code, disconnect the battery negative for 15 minutes.

Ah, if it's turning over then hunt down the inertia fuel cutoff button.

They are normally under the dash somewhere
Let's be careful out there !

My breakdown service came out, he said there's no fuel coming through and it's possible that it's the fuel pump, so I'm thinking if it's a safety feature to cut off all fuel or whether it's just blown some fuse/relay.
I disconnected the battery for about 30 seconds but not for 15 mins.
Its been taken to my dealers now for them to have a look at it. Thank you for all the help I really appreciate it.
Just hope it's not blown the ecu.

You will probably get a bill for a small fortune for resetting the inertial cutoff. It is in the footwell, behind a panel. You press the button. As Kremmen said.

Thanks everyone for all of your advice, I've picked my car back up, there was a bunch of blown fuses. I was pretty sure I wired that mirror module up correctly unless it was faulty.
Thanks again.

dare we ask what "a couple of blown fuses" cost you at the dealers? :o
