Navigation - silence radio/get back guidance

In navigation when audio turned off the radio comes on and do not route back to navigation voice guidance, anyone recognise this and how to overcome?

All I know is that there are separate settings for radio audio and navigation audio.

IIRC if you have turned down the navigation audio whilst it's playing you may have to go into the menu.

But, in my experience, using the volume control whilst the navigation is playing doesn't turn it fully off but down to volume level 1 so should be recoverable without menus.
