If you have the telematics activated the car is tracked through the Honda app.

It works quite well and you can set an alarm if the car moves outside an area you set.

It’s free for the first year, I think maybe £30 a year afterwards.

There’s nothing to fit as the car has the tech built in.

I guess I've been watching too many Police Videos, which prompted me to ask the question.
I know the Jazz is regarded in the UK as an old persons car, but nevertheless it is an expensive and desirable item, which I don't want to lose.

Thanks Sportse, I will investigate your idea of using the telematics, which so far I have not activated.
Is the activation something I can do myself, or is it a Dealer procedure?

...I think it's a dealer job.

I tried the ring fencing today which worked as advertised, notification received when the car had left the preset area.

The wife can keep track of the vehicle location (and consequently me) using the app, which amuses her :D, as an added driver.

The Telematics control unit (TCU) needs to be activated by a dealer if its not already and then follow the registration process.

I suspect it's not been activated.
Is there any way of telling, without contacting the dealer?

...There should be a symbol of a car with a 'radio wave' on the top edge of the infotainment screen. Should be white if active, greyed out if not I think.

Many thanks for the info, Yes, the symbol is greyed out at the moment, so will have to get a Dealer involved.
Can any Honda dealer activate it, or must I go to the dealer I brought the car from and will there be a charge for this activation?

I would expect any Honda dealer to be able to enable the TCU as part of after sales service and support.

I would add that basic tracking continues even if you don't pay the £30 after the first free year (which starts from when the vehicle was sold, not when the TCU was enabled). However, the basic feature provides less information. The app tells me that my car is parked in my street but doesn't provide the map with the exact location.
