Unsure about heating

I'm new here and I bought a 2013 1.3 Jazz last month. It's manual and I'm unsure how to put the heating on and defrost, I'm thinking ahead to cold weather. Heating is set at 28 degrees, do I turn it on by pressing the A/C button and setting it to dashboard vents? Also I believe that when defrosting it setting it to floor vents and recirculate would help, is that right?

The fastest way to demist the screen is to use the AC - press AC, use recirculation button and set fan speed to max. Mode should be set to windscreen symbol.
For heat in the cabin you want to set the mode to vents, either face level or face level and feet, turn up the temp and adjust airflow speed to how you want it.
Personally in the winter I keep mine set to screen and feet, keeps screen clear and heat in the cabin.
