Title: Cheapish/Easy Sound System Upgrade?
Post by: bus_ter on June 25, 2021, 07:56:08 PM
Has anyone upgraded the sound system? Maybe replaced the door speakers or added a sub?

Looking for a cheapish/Easy sound system upgrade if it's possible? I don't want to spend a lot of money or dismantle half the car.

Looks expensive. I'm just after better sound quality. Did you keep the original speakers? Did the headunit make a noticeable improvement to the sound quality?

£200 all in with the surround.

I kept the existing speakers and the sound is a little better but not dramatic.  I doubt there is enough oomph in the original unit to power much better speakers. I was more interested in functionality rather than out and out sound quality

Oh £200 is less than I assumed. Might be worth it for CarPlay. Easy to install?

No too bad, the hardest part was transferring the heater controls over. You will also need a wiring adapter and steering wheel control , about £25.

The brand is ATOTO and I purchased it from Amazon, been working fine for 3 or 4 months

Ah this is exactly the cheapish easy fix I'm after. Do you per chance remember the sizes? If they use standard speaker connections and if they're easy to gain access?
