ge door wear and tear
« on: October 16, 2010, 06:00:46 PM »
Hi all, had my ge jazz 6 months now. the material trim on drivers door is wearing badly.

I tend to rest my right arm on the top of the trim as the arm rest is too low. This is something
I have done with all my cars including my last 4 hondas. (3 crv and 1 civic)
What's happening is my elbow has rubbed away the cloth leaving a bad noticable mark.
I wont mention the rattle from the passenger seat and door. Anyone with similar faults ?

Apart from the fact that you shouldn't do this due to the side curtain airbags, I've not noticed any such wear or any rattling.

A rattle you should be able to get fixed under warranty.

What you say does not surprise me. I think the interior trim in the new Jazz is quite poor and inferior to the old model. Parker’s car review states that the dashboard trim looks like it's from a much cheaper car and sadly I have to agree with that comment. Considering the cost of the new model I think Honda should have done much better.

At a long shot ------I found the seat rattle on my car was caused by the seat belt buckle against the side trim when the pax seat was not occupied.

I have noticed a rattle from the front near side when the passenger seat is empty but have not been able to isolate it. I don't think it is the seat belt buckle, seems to depend on road surface i.e. occurs on bumpy surfaces at relatively slow speeds.

Yep, the same. I'm very careful not to rub the arm over the material.

Hi csp

Not exactly related to the topic of door wear, but I have had the passenger front seat belt rattle also and push it down free of he side panel when not in use.
Also had the front nearside rattle and after much searching it turned out in my case to be the panel beneath the glove boxes. I pushed the panel up and this stopped the rattle completely. I will report his when the next service is due.
Hope this helps.
