Hi, for my sins, I live out in the hills and have had to get the AA out a couple of times to start my car due to dodgy battery. To get a quicker fix in futire, can anyone recommend a charger that I can purchase? Maybe even one that doesnt need plugging in? (Power bank thing)
4.5amp,6amp, 8amp, I'm just not sure what I need really.

Your battery normally gives plenty of warning of failure you ignore the signs at your peril.....
Make sure negative connections from battety to bodywork and bodywork to engine are tight and not corroded...

The battery is fine. I've left the lights on twice and ran it down. I know I'm an idiot etc etc, but, instead of calling out the AA if it happens again, I'm looking to get a charger, so, any recommendatins on this?

One of the points I like about it is that it uses a normal micro USB to charge it, not a specialised lead. My girlfriend has it as she keeps on leaving the lights on in her 1.6 Audi. Starts the engine every time when the cars battery won't.

A charger will take at least an hour to put enough in a flat battery to start - get one of those batteries like JohnA has, but you have to remember to keep it charged as well.
By the way every time your battery is allowed to go flat it dies a little, it is called DOD 'depth of discharge' and lead acid ( well any battery really ) does not like to be fully discharged, they like to be kept in top 20 to 25% of charge for longest ife.

Update: - They had the very same thing on Amazon, 25 quid. I had a voucher for 21, so its only cost me 4 quid. Great stuff!! ;D

I've done the same to my Jazz - I left the interior lights on and then had a flat battery. I charged it up and it's been OK since - but culzean is right, every such episode takes a bit of capacity from the battery, and may damage it beyond recovery. Be very careful when you jump start any modern car - make absolutely sure you get the connections right and read the instructions on your battery and your jazz handbook.
That battery posted by JohnA looks very good, I'd buy one except I do have a spare 12v car battery that I could use, although it's not portable like the one posted.
I'll need to buy my Jazz a new battery in the near future (my spare one is way too big for the Jazz)

Make sure you charge it regularly. That's the only problem is that you use these things so rarely, you forget and it's flat when you go to use it. Worse still, you leave them flat so long they won't recharge. Keep it charged and it will keep the battery in good condition.
The best thing is a big mains powered charger/starter, but one worth having costs plenty.

My daughter has had this happen a couple of times when her 3yr old has reached up and turned the rear interior light on. Quite surprising that Jazz doesn't shut them off after a few mins - the VWs we have in the family do.
