Right trim pushed in

Hi All,

Relatively new Jazz owner, and over the weekend I noticed that the right trim housing the fog lights on my 2018 Jazz have been pushed in a couple of inches (I assume someone has backed into my car).

Has anyone had something similar happen to their Jazz? Am I looking at having to replace the entire bumper?

Hi and welcome.

My guess is that you might be able to clip it back into place

Hard luck, first off check if both lights are working. You may be able to wangle the light unit back into place from the front if you can detached the wiring from the rear. If you can your half way home. Fixing the light into place could be achieved with double sided tape or adhesive such as JB weld.

I agree, it does look as though it will push back into place. I think it would be a lot easier to do that if you take the bumper off though. The other thing is that I think I saw some pictures that showed the fog light is attached to the car body and the trim just "floats" in front of it. In that case I would be a bit worried that the fog light mountings have been bent and need straightening. It might be possible to glue the trim back into place from behind with silicon type glue even if the bumper (or trim) has been damaged so that's another reason to take the bumper off.

I haven't done it with the GK but it wasn't that hard with the GD and looking at You Tube the GK isn't so different. Bit cold for all that at the moment though.

Bear in mind components are designed where possible for ease of assembly.
It's quicker and easier for an assembly worker to clip or push something into position rather than screw it in place on the production line.
So it's easier to dislodge bits of trim etc but also easier to push them back on again.

Thanks all. It was thankfully possible to refit the fog light assembly, but needed to remove the front wheel and the inner wheel arch trim to get access.
