PowderCoat Alloy Wheels
« on: July 08, 2015, 08:53:03 AM »
My 1999 HRV has just had all four wheels powder coated and boy what a fantastic difference. All four alloys were done in one day and were acid dipped, shot blasted and powder coated.

On the exterior they were not too bad originally but had signs of corrosion and flaking paint. The insides of the alloys were a different story - really manky!

For anyone in the Colchester, Essex  area I can thoroughly recommend RimRenov8 who are based off Peartree Road. (I have absolutely no affiliation to the company, simply recommending them for the excellent work they have done). I visited several places before selecting these guys and all the others did not fill me with confidence.

Pics to follow for anyone interested.

£50 + vat per wheel but it does also depend on how bad they are. All four wheels were done in a day, unlike some other places that wanted 2 or 3 days!

I guess thats the going rate but the fact that it was all done in a day is pretty impressive.

I thought refurbing takes overnight so give time to strip the wheel and powder coat and put in oven etc?

The original rates I found were between £65 + VAT and £80 + VAT so I was very happy with this price.
