What’s the service interval for the new 2018 Jazz?
« on: May 24, 2018, 07:22:43 PM »
Because they offer the 5 year plan I assumed it’s every 12 months? I don’t do many miles per year, maybe 6k give or take a 1k. Should I have brought the service plan?

The service interval is 12,500 miles or 12 months whichever comes first.

I think the 5 year service plan is good value compared to paying for annual services one by one.  With low mileage you should have nothing to pay except perhaps for replacement front tyres.

It ought to be variable with the car deciding when a service is needed but my dealer always disables this feature :-/

With the owner demographic in the UK that is to reduce the chance of the dealer going broke as is the service plan offered.

What’s with the rear discs going quickly? And how much does it cost roughly?

Lack of use allows them to corrode, also they contribute little braking effort if the car is only braked from low speed so any rust does not get cleaned off. Honda has a fixed price repair scheme for consumable items.

I would add to my post above that the rear disc corrosion problem applies to most cars with rear discs that are only used as local runabouts and it is a downside of extreme economy driving. Many manufacturers cars have this problem.
