CVT gearbox
« on: March 15, 2019, 03:57:16 PM »
Hi Guys,
My Jazz has a CVT gearbox which is in trouble, and flushing the oil hasn't cured it. Is there more than one model of CVT gearbox 2002-2008 or will any one fit?

They will all fit, the name of the gearbox is SWRA (check ebay).

Internally, there is one thing, a later version (from I think 2005) has an upgrade on the start clutch. This one has more surface area on the friction discs so a longer lifespan. Because this part is most common to fail it is preferable to go for this one ,but off course other factors like mileage and maintenance are also important.

My car is from 2002 and appeared to have a 2005 CVT, so it was already swapped. I put another 2003 CVT in there myself and no problems with fitting etc.

Good luck, let me know if you need more info
