Do you need a Honda specific ODB diagnostics interface or will any generic OBDII compliant interface work?
It'll need to be Android based probably via bluetooth and I'd like to read codes and check running info.
Also what Android app works best?
I know from older Vauxhall experience only specific ODB interfaces and apps would work.

It depends what you want ot do. OBDII will only connect to the engine ECU.
A £3 ELM327 based bluetooth interface and Torque work for me, the few other apps I tried all connected okay.
You need something Honda specific to access ABS, SRS, EPS, etc..

Thanks Paul, can the basic ODBII interface clear codes and read them?
I'm assuming the Honda specific ones can do delete mods and map mods, seems Hondata is one, very expensive?

Yes the basic code reader will read and clear codes (and also read sensors -such as coolant temperature which the Jazz doesn't have a gauge) . They're Chinese ELM327 clones. Some claim to support newer protocols and such but they should all work on the old Jazz. I bought a Viecar branded one (another page recommended as being one of the better 'very cheap' readers). To access Honda specific stuff you will have to pay a lot more, and you probably won't need it.

Only engine related, but you can read and clear engine related fault codes and see live data.
If you want to do anything else, you need Honda HDS (or a clone) or one of the multi-manufacturer devices. Garages use professional systems like Delphi or Snap-On, but DIYer multi-manufacturer devices are now appearing, such as Autel, Foxwell, CReader, etc. - other members have had mixed results, there's a few threads on the subject if you do a search.
The important things that you wont be able to access with the OBDII is SRS (airbags etc.) and ABS.
