My last Jazz was a 61 reg hybrid which I bought new and lasted 6.5 years and 256k miles until a driveshaft/gearbox fault made it an uneconomical repair. Its replacement, another hybrid bought in April 2018 with 1,200 miles on the clock, now has 46,500 miles, so looking at 67k miles a year.

Seeing these high mileages gives me confidence my 83K Jazz has a lot of life left.

Apart from routine servicing can I ask what has broken/been replaced in its lifetime? AFAIK my car has had a new exhaust, new brake lines but otherwise only standard servicing in it's life. I think the gearbox oil is original (I mean to replace it next Summer), and I don't think the valve clearances have ever been adjusted (nothing in the documentation to suggest).

My 2004 has done 150000. Nothing major wrong with it just minor things at mot time. Exhaust, brake pipes. Has a few dents and scuffs but not bothered about that. Out on the road unless is a limit, then chug along at 55mph, get pretty good for the gallon.

My Jazz Hybrid needed a new air conditioning compressor at 200k (£650 non-Honda), and I changed the drivers seat due to a small tear (£80 from a breakers).
After 256k it still had the original exhaust, suspension, etc and it has had a hard life as a driving tuition car.

Was there any thing you need to be aware of when changing the seats, eg., Airbag? I want to replaced mine too, Ozzie.

Ours was an instructor's car for it's first 110K miles, but at 160K-odd it's still barely run in.

I asked my main dealer was it a DIY job, and they said there's wiring for the airbags, and it needs to be isolated to avoid the airbag going off. I think they charged me £80 to do it. My DIY mechanic days are over.

I changed the worn steering wheel in ours, which involved removing the airbag. Just follow the correct procedure, and you should be fine.

Disconnect the battery, wait 3 minutes before touching anything to dissipate the back-up capacitor, and store with the airbag part facing upwards. Reconnect all wiring before reconnecting the battery.
