Has build quality and reliabilty improved?

Due to the engine restrictions on the Jazz EX, I have decided to seriously look at the HR-V petrol.  My local dealers have an offer on at the moment and are trying to persuade me to trade in my 29 month old Jazz.

I noticed that ther were numerous reliability issues with earlier builds of this car and wondred how things faired now?

If the dedicated HR-V forum https://www.hrvforums.co.uk/ is a reasonable indicator, then the build quality and reliability are much improved although someone recently reported a rattle on a new vehicle. The unwillingness of my 2 year old HR-V to keep the battery properly charged, which then affects the auto-stop, is my main annoyance. It's a very pleasant vehicle to drive with a very smooth build up of revs (unlike the 1.3 Mk Jazz) and can be quite frugal if driven with a gentle right foot. The Honda factory staff have only been allowed to have the HR-V since around August 2017 when the supply problems eased and I'm sure that they would have been providing feedback.

PS: Also look at the ex-demonstrators https://usedcars.honda.co.uk/en/used-cars/approved-cars. That's where I got my HR-V on the basis that not only would I save money compared to a new one but also the dealer would have fixed any problems. Ideally get one with a service plan.
