Jazz radio light question
« on: May 02, 2014, 10:13:09 PM »
Hello all, I have a 2006 Jazz and I just wanted to know if the volume knob and the four buttons around that should be lit up when I have the lights on.

I think it should be, but on my jazz the are not lit up. I just wanted to check and make sure before I decide if I can be bothered to try and sort it out.

Yes thanks it does. Now next question how do I get at the bulbs back there and what bulb are they?

Probably have to pull the radio dash out, I'll check, but a lot of these bulbs are tiny capless things.

Having looked further, the lighting for around that knob is all on one sub-board.

Perhaps it's a dodgy connection with the main unit?

Thanks for that, but I have the sport version so I don't have the dials but the buttons. Not sure if that changes the type of bulbs back there.

The illumination behind the main radio volume/ on/ off knob is provided by capless bulbs of the same type used in the HRW and aircon switches. You will have to remove the complete radio/ fascia and then the radio from the fascia to access the bulbs as they are mounted in plastic holders soldered onto the printed circuit board.
It’s a quite a lengthy and awkward job to access them.
One of the reasons I decided to replace the complete radio with a modern double din unit.
