Honda Jazz Mk2 2008-2015 / OBD-11
« Last post by mactoshb on Today at 12:48:13 PM »
I have a 2011 Honda Jazz 1.4 petrol and have an error showing for my oil pressure. I do not think there is anything wrong with the oil pressure and the error code is caused by the fact that while wiring up a Dash Cam I pulled out the fuse for the oil pressure sensor by mistake. and started the engine, this I think registering the fault and even after replacing the fuse the error still shows on the dashboard.
I have connected five different makes of OBD-11 meters to the car and none will detect the car. I have been quoted over £100 to delete the error code by various dealers and think that a bit dear when there is  probably no fault . I know that the oil pressure is OK by the simple fact the car has run for 5000 miles since I  made the mistake of starting it without the fuse with no problem
Does anyone know why the Zazz is not detected? . I have even had a ford dealer tell me he could not remove the error code as his computer will not work with Hondas as they have set the diagnostic so only Hondaís computers can "see" a Honda.
Any advice would be gratefully received It is very irritating to have to correct the display before I can  see the MPG etc every time I start the car.
Thanks, Boyd  :(

thanks Boyd

Honda Jazz Mk2 2008-2015 / Re: Rear pads

The rear disc hand brake on our Rover had to be set up in a very precise manner. I suspect as the Rover was basically a Honda the same applies to the Jazz.
The online manual should describe the set up, If  remember correctly both rear wheels have to be off the ground, The lever on top of the caliper must be fully home against it's stop. Remove the central cover in the car. Then carefully adjust the nuts on the hand brake lever until with one notch on the lever the brakes should just be dragging. It is barely noticeable, Of course all slide pins must be free and the pads must be free in the caliper.
I too was warned about the handbrake, although I do leave the car in reverse, to cover my backside with insurance company given the so called problem with the Jazz handbrake. I have never felt the car move with the hand brake applied as Jocko states no matter how steep the slope.

before changing your plugs make sure you have a long enough extension for your plug socket, they are really deep.

I replaced the rear pads on mine and carefully greased all mating surfaces with silicon grease. Result - handbrake is superb..  Will hold car on 1 in 3 hill.
It is cheaper for dealer to skip the 'service' and then deal with the limited number of people who complain, unfortunately that is the mindset of dealers who care more for their bottom line than for their customers.

It's a tricky one because clearly that's right - the dealer is there to screw as much money out of you as possible, the staff are targeted to do that.  It's never going to make for a good relationship.   Turn down the "premium" service add-on (why would a Jazz need a spare litre of oil?) and the service advisor gets all grumpy.

Get some blu tack, make an impression of the wheel nut take to dealer for their help.

Just take the whole car and the dealer should be able to pick the right one.

We had to buy another for our 2014 Jazz and it was only about £8.  The key card was in the folder in the car with the manual etc.  Of course the 'lost' one then turned up.

If the OP does want to do it remotely then try searching on eBay for one that looks the same - although be careful as they're all pretty similar.   Or there's
