Not a Tesla?

No. My lust for the exotic would be satisfied by the 911 Turbo.

Honda Jazz Mk1 2002-2008 / Strange chinking sound
« Last post by JazzyB on July 15, 2018, 09:23:10 PM »
With this hot weather we have been having lately i tend to have the windows open initially and has a result have now noticed what I can best describe as a 'chinking sound when I go over bumps in the road especially when going over cats eyes, sounds like I have got a bunch of keys resting on the bonnet.

So I had a look underneath,  nothing abivous  I removed both front wheels and checked steering and suspension found nothing broken or loose. Nothing under the bonnet,  even removed the front bumper and nothing loose or broken.

So I am a bit miffed as to what the noise is?

Welcome aboard Brian, the MK2 is about the most reliable and trouble free car on the roads, and at 50,000 miles is just about run in nicely. If you not sure of battery history 5 years is about the right time to replace it, it may last a few more years, then again it may not and there is a reason the longest warranty you can get on a battery ( unless you pay about 150) is five years.

Thanks Culzean.  May think about getting the battery tested before the winter sets in, and if needed stick a new one in :-)

I'd have the Jazz sent off to a specialist restorer, and have it put back into concourse condition!

Honda Jazz Mk2 2008-2015 / Re: strange thing happened to air con ..any idea
« Last post by culzean on July 15, 2018, 08:29:10 PM »
Your system may be low on gas, this can cause low pressure pipe to freeze, there is actually a sensor on the condenser (the cold bit in the car) to drop the aircon clutch and cooling fan power if it starts to freeze up.  There is also an over temperature cut out on the compressor to protect it. Also aircon will not engage clutch if ambient temp less than 4degC.

Lack of airflow over the condenser can also cause system pipe to freeze, has the cabin air filter been replaced recently ? Is there any way moisture could have got into system ?
