When I first renewed my licence at age 70 the DVLA left my motor cycle licence off my renewal.
Vic.
Indeed. The stories around back then were alarming, even a police bike cop lost his bike category and had to re-take his test according to the stories at the time.
At least you can now check online what entitlements you have on the DVLA records, so it shouldn't happen now. However, come the time I need to renew I will inexplicably "lose" my old licence until the new one arrives, at which point I will miraculously find it again.

Before I knew I could find my details online I was considering getting my current licence copied at a job centre where you can get them to photocopy and issue a certificate of true copy.

My PSV section will go as that expired because of expired medical checkups.
Let's be careful out there !

Same here. I am due my second "3-year licence" in another couple of months.

As A boy, I was a bit of a lunatic boy racer. In the rain, I once overtook a car in the last hundred yards before the toll booths on the Forth Road Bridge. I ended up sliding sideways between the booths. I had to walk to the front of the car (Ford Consul Mk 1) to pay the toll, accompanied by verbal encouragement from the guy I had overtaken. I then took about 7 cuts to extricate myself from between the booths.

Even today, I am still a bit "wild". A spell as a "white van man" didn't help, and occasionally my wife will say to me, "White van man today?" when I "press on".

I love that you have photos of all your cars Jocko. Wish I'd done that.

I've taken photographs for years (not so much now) and transferred a lot to digital, so there is usually something with a car in it!

Me too. I moved so many times before I was 25 when I bought my first house. All the cars I had came and went without record other than memory. Everything in the last 16yrs has been digitally photod, so I have a record of the last 17 motors!  :D
