Honda Jazz Mk1 2002-2008 / Re: Manual gearbox speed sensor wiring pinout
« Last post by Mark1 on Today at 10:19:22 PM »
Great stuff thank you. I can't see which one is pin 1 in the plug or sensor to reference the wiring. At least with the black yellow in the middle. i now have a 50/50 split and not sending a live down something I shouldn't.

Thanks again.

I quite like the front of my jazz and the facelifted version with the diamond hex mesh grill adds a bit more style beyond my shaped “slotted nose “ . The mark 5 photo is a backward step  from a properly designed mk 4 in my view

My Jazz started surging  at around 280 000 km and after changing plugs etc, I finally cleaned the THROTTLE BODY and sorted out the problem.

Not a difficult job and  very clearly explained on YouTube

The Haynes manual shows it as a 3 wire sensor.
Black / Yellow is the live feed to pin 2.
Blue / White is the signal wire from pin 3 which goes to C15 on the instrument cluster.
Black is the ground connection from pin 1.

Apparently, there's also a reversing light switch close to the speed sensor for info.

Honda Jazz Mk3 2015-2020 / Re: Handbrake Warning Light
« Last post by Basil on Today at 01:52:23 PM »
Yes there is. It’s an exclamation mark in a circle, enclosed in brackets (presumably to mimic brake shoes acting on a drum), all in red. It’s lower right of the main speedo dial in front of the driver, and should appear when you first turn the ignition on as well as be on all the time the parking brake is applied. Pictures are in the handbook, round about page 11. The young lady in your garage is talking hogwash.

Thanks a lot ColinB, much appreciated.

Jazz 2005 owner of 5 years here - the parking brake always been iffy. Have had it adjusted by garages a few times with variable results. Did a DIY job today following the advice here, and it definitely seems to have helped!

Check the tyre wheel pressure guide on drivers door panel.
If youy Jazz has the  grey plastic valves they are TPMS but they only fitted from 2013-15 .
Never us rubber valve caps always fir plastic caps - plemty on Internet.

As regards tyres - buy the best you can afford, Ive had customers using Toyo Falken & Goodyear always have the tracking checked after fitting new tyres.
You can fit a full sized spare wheel in the boot if yours is Mk2 Jazz .
Check blackcircles mytyres co uk then go along to your local tyre place ask for a quote fitted by them

Honda Jazz Mk3 2015-2020 / Re: Safety Recall - Fuel Pump
« Last post by Basil on Today at 12:46:33 PM »
I just visited the Honda garage that did my fuel pump recall to try and find a resolution for my issue with resetting the TPMS.

I mentioned that the centre console would have been removed to replace the fuel pump but I was told that that only applies to the HRV, "apparently" on the Jazz the fuel pump is replaced from below !

Honda Jazz Mk2 2008-2015 / Re: Help with CVT Fluid Type
« Last post by olduser1 on Today at 12:46:25 PM »
I would have thought the original CVT reddish fluid for Mk2 , however if you want to be dead sure run the VIN on the coxmotorparts.co.uk site and you get the officlal answer .
Mk 2 2008-15 these last ones were made in Swindon UK with plenty around at dealers into 2015 upto July so check the passenger door vin details.
The Mk3 totally different animal made in Japan again see your vin plate
