« on: February 16, 2012, 08:09:51 PM »
Today I`ve replaced my clutch fluid with Pagid DOT4 brake fluid.

The dirty one just 9 years and 6 months old...
Here are the pictures:

Did you help yourself by applying some light pressure on the pedal?

Charly - I got my misses to press the clutch pedal  ;)

r_torrijos2007

From Honda manual:
http://www.hondafitjazz.com/manual/A00/HTML/01/SAA2E01E34116317081KBAT00.HTML

Bleed the clutch hydraulic system.

Attach a hose to the bleeder screw (A), and suspended the hose in a container of brake fluid.
Make sure there is an adequate supply of fluid at the clutch master cylinder, then slowly pump the clutch pedal until no more bubbles appear at the bleeder hose.
Tighten the bleed screw to 8 N·m (0.8 kgf·m, 5.8 lbf·ft); do not overtighten it.
Refill the clutch master cylinder with fluid when done.
Always use only Genuine Honda DOT 3 or 4 brake fluid.

---

I used the same method as at the brake fluid change.

Get a brake bleeder rubber hose and a bottle where the old fluid will go.
I took out the air filter housing to access to the clutch slave cylinder.
You have to put the bleeder hose onto the bleeder screw on the clutch slave cylinder than get someone to press the clutch pedal.
After the clutch been pressed open the bleeder screw (use 8mm spanner) and when you see no more fluid comes out (after 1 second) close that screw.
The clutch pedal will not come up to the original position so you need to use something (hand/foot/etc.) to pry underneath the pedal to pull back up than start again the same method.
Don`t forget to fill up the clutch master cylinder after every 3 clutch presses (don`t let air go into the hose attached to that cylinder).

After you`ve finished press the clutch pedal about 20 times. You must feel it is not soft (or becoming a bit harder), apply the handbrake than start the engine and select each gear whilst you keep the clutch pedal pressed down. Every gear should work without giving any noise when selected than drive off in 1st gear for 5 meters than reverse back where you were.
Job done.

mod: A few weeks ago I bought a Gunson Eezibleed kit, so next time I`ll use that.
