Model year info would be useful.

But here's my unofficial short list of common problems afflicting UK Jazzi over the years

- lift boot floor and check for water leaks into spare wheel well.
- if it has rear drum brakes, check for noisy worn wheel bearings.
- check for CVT judder.  I guess by flooring gas pedal from stand still and ensure car pulls smoothly.
- check for sticky steering when steering is in centre position travelling at speed in straight line. Seems to afflict later made cars.
- if car is made in 2007-8, check the VIN. If it begins LUC, it will be made in China (not Japan).
- check for bubbling paint near centre hub cap if car has alloy wheels.
- front brake pads and discs do wear out quickly.
- if car has rear disc brakes, check the hand brake will hold car on slope.  I think there was a recall on earlier cars.
- check aircon is working (if fitted) as condensor is massively exposed through the lower front grill.
- if the engine idle is uneven, there  may be a problem with the EGR valve.

Retail:   £3,068
Private Good:   £2,498
Private Average:   £2,178
Part Exchange:   £2,348
Trade:   £2,225
At this age the condition is the main driver for the asking £ then how it drives, it remains a buyers market

If from a dealer ask for a clear HPi check + to see the V5 then contact the prev owner
Check the service book for consistency
Look back on the MOT for mileage etc

Happy hunting

well car is now purchased and sitting on the drive, rang the honda garage before hand and checked out the service history and all was good, last service was a level two, which was done 2000 miles ago.very pleased so far, compared to my old civic it seems like sports performance  :D.partner has looked through service history, all mots and service bills in the pack, only thing he cant find is if the auto transmission oil (cvt) has been changed, is this somethig that requires attention.the service history is all main dealer, any help on this would be much appreciated  8)

Check the colour of the oil.  The new spec CVTF oil introduced from 2006 is transparent with a hint of pink/purple to its visible appearance when new.

Glad to hear of your successful purchase, just recheck with the previous dealer -  their record should have the date mileage when CVT fluid changed - scheduled every 24k or 2years.
As bill888 states the oil should be clean and coloured
