No go in Drive
« on: February 10, 2020, 04:49:44 PM »
Hi Guys,

Have owned the Jazz for not too long and have had all the dreaded issues described here including and not limited to water in the boot, cracked mirror, EGR issues, spark plugs\Coils & Juddering when starting off however after all this I now have no engaement in drive the car just revs.

The error message the AA man kindly gave me after plugging the car in is Engine COntrol - 10N / ENgine Control PGM-FI 3.0p0700 - Automatic transmission oil pressure switch. Error Message: Malfunction

I am quite savy with cars but after looking around trying to find a part or solution I am stumped. From my understanding the car has two auto oil pressure switches for the second an third gear but this doesn't sound like my issue as the car is failing to engage at all.

Another thing to mention is if the car is left overnight it can then drive forward which makes me feel as though its not the transmission that has packed up.

Your help is greatly appreciated.

Have you checked the gearbox oil level?
Is the oil clean?

Thanks for your reply.

The work recently done:

New Spark Plugs
Transmission oil change with Xado
Engine oil change
All filters
Wheel bearing

The car now seems to be fine but I am worried of this issue reappearing and then needing to be towed again.

Anyone else been in the same place.

Xado? Is that a CVT oil?

Xado? Is that a CVT oil?

It is an additive to de-glaze and restore the CVT, to get rid of juddering

If your Jazz has CVT auto box its essential to only use the Honda CVT fliud when undertaking a change.

Yep agreed the CVT oil was replaced by Honda fluid. So I'm guessing I'm the first in this position.

I think I will avoid CVT in the future as this is the second which has had issues (the other was a cooper).

Forgot to mention the battery was also replaced with a Varta due to EPS issues also (which has seemed to help)
