Power Socket
« on: September 28, 2021, 05:51:22 AM »
Only just realised that there is no power socket in the boot like my previous 3 Hondas.

Scratch getting that 12V coolbox then ......

No big problem, back to freeze blocks.
Let's be careful out there !

If you not afraid that with uniq functions you won’t resell you car you can add 12v socket to boot permanently, or just take from aliexpress 12v extender that long enough to reach boot of car, I know it’s not good looking (red wire dropped from front power socket to the boot , but fast and you can anytime remove this extender wires or jus use when you need to power 12v coolbox.
Like this one if 3,6m enough, claimed 10A 12v so you can power anything up to 120w

I've got no intention of adding any 12V socket, just an observation.
Let's be careful out there !

That extension seems to be0.75mm2 cable. Seems light for15a.  Online calc would suggest 1.5 or 2.5.
I 've bought a decent wirable socket, need to get some cable and hardware into camping fridge. 75w.

But this also too thin wire - on wire itself stamped 1.31mm or something like 16AWG with thick isolation
will work but voltage will drop slighty with 10A load
But if lot of equpment can work from AC i will preffer to use small 150w inverter, this eliminates thik long wires requirements   just if someone will go this way don't buy baseus one - this inverter works good but will not turn on AC if in 12v power socket voltage less then 14 volts
