Radio preset channels
« on: March 02, 2015, 01:17:56 PM »
Hi, I bought a Jazz ES plus 2014 last week. I  discovered that it will only let me  preset  6 FM stations instead of 12. The dealer is trying to tell me that this is standard on some models.
Is that correct?

I find that hard to believe, all my Jazzes have been able to preset 12 FM stations and I can see no reason why Honda would reduce that, especially on 'some models' particularly the somewhat up market ES Plus.
Are you saying that you cannot find two lots of six preset FM positions to tune in plus the six AM ones ?

Vic.

Hi Vic, yes I find it difficult to believe too. When I press the mode button it goes from FM to AM with no option for FM2. The dealer said it could be replaced but might still be the same!

Try a similar spec car at the dealers next time your nearby, should be FM1 + FM2 = 12 presets.

My 2012 ES only had 6 channels set up and so the AM FM selector only showed 6 AM and 6 FM channels but when I scanned using the left hand button RDM/A.SEL I could set up FM with 6 channels and FM1 with 6 channels plus AM with 6 channels. The user interface on the radio is not very intuitive I have not checked the user manual. Now when I select using AM FM button I can select AM FM or FM1 all wit 6 channels.

I suspect that the salesperson in the dealer is not familiar with setting up the radio, it is probably done by the workshop on PDI.

I can not believe the radios are different on some cars.

Thank you csp, that has done the trick! I'll tell the salesperson and the technician how to do it, and also tell them that you have saved them the cost of a replacement radio.

The Honda salesman told me that the radio buttons 1 - 6 were to chose from 6 different CDs. Completely hopeless! (Unless, of course, I'm missing something?).

I have 18 presets 6 FM1 6 FM2 6 AM (I think!).
