spacesaver

Hi! As a new Honda Jazz owner, I wonder if anyone can help me....I've bought a used 2012 Jazz. I heard some rattling in the back, and when I lifted the carpet, the unused space saver wheel is there with the jack, etc, however, the large plastic tray that sits over the wheel & the tools go in is missing, as is the attachment to secure the wheel to the thread. So in other words, if I put anything heavy in the boot, there's no base. Does anyone know what these plastic trays are called & if I can buy them from anyone? I can't find them on any of the Honda webstites.
Thanks for anyone who can help!

I think that you will find that from about Nov 2008 at the model change point, the spacesaver spare was dropped and replaced by a repair kit.
There is a spacesaver available as an accessory but I believe it comes with a retaining device as well.
The previous owner may have done what I did and bought a spare from EBay or somewhere in which case it probably doesn't have any means of securing it in the boot. I have wedged mine in with shaped pieces of polystyrene packing.
The jack should be secured at the rear of the boot in a space provided which is marked by a 'jack' symbol.

Vic.

if that's the case, I cant understand what forms the bottom of the boot....if you've just got this empty well for the spare to go in. the carpet is just covering a big gaping hole. And there is a thread welded to the boot for the securing screw to go into.

When I was supplied with a spacesaver as part of the deal when I bought my Jazz, a new cover was supplied over the spacesaver which fits the hole in the boot where the spare sits.

Yeah, you're right. Spoke to the dealer & you've got to buy the whole lot including the wheel. They don't sell the cover on its own. Looks like a visit to the scrapyard!
