Noises Off
« on: July 15, 2021, 04:55:05 PM »
Running around today, slowly in EV mode, with the window open, I was aware of a peculiar noise emanating from under the bonnet.
I assume it is the artificial noise, generated by Honda, to warn pedestrians and cyclists etc of my approach.
Would it not be much better to hear an actual recording of perhaps a 6L V8 engine burbling away at a fast tick over ??
The current sound, sounds as though there is something wrong with the engine.
Or is it just me.? :o

Yes, below about 15mph the car makes a strange noise to alert pedestrians.

So, it looks like I'm the only one who would prefer a recording of a burbling V8, rather than the 'strange noise' ;D

Maybe the ‘Greensleeves’ sound track of an ice cream van.

Yes, yes, I want one! Not quite the rumble I was was expecting but much better than the existing noise.

If you look at the requirements of the regulation for quiet vehicles, it is a very complicated and specific frequency noise that the vehicles must make.

The noise is obviously not loud enough, I have people walking in front of me in the town center.

That's when that "horrible horn" https://clubjazz.org/forum/index.php?topic=13384.0 gets to work, right?
