Infotainment system - Anti Theft System error message
« on: July 15, 2021, 09:22:01 AM »
I've had this error message a few times whilst driving and have to re-boot the system.

Following a search I've found similar issues in the "infotainment error message thread" from a few years ago.
I was going to add to that thread but it's a few years old now and possibly outdated.

https://clubjazz.org/forum/index.php?topic=7624.msg41285#msg41285

I've looked at my firmware version and it's 09.08C.00.0021, which from other posts on here suggests it's running RC3 build.

I'm presuming a firmware update will help but don't fancy a trip to a dealership to be honest.

Anyone else experiencing this?

It's not just that the system really did lose power is it? I mean a loose/broken wire on the power feed could do this? I know "computer" messages can usually be a little cryptic but they can also be taken at face value sometimes .... Just a thought.

I get where you're coming from Dave, and usually I'd start fault finding by checking for loose connections. It's only happened a few times now, but whilst driving and also stationary (engine on or off).

But... a quick search around this morning showed it's not an uncommon problem amongst several models in the Honda range. Although not discounting your suggestion, at this moment I'm sort of leaning towards it being a 'feature' of early firmware.

I did find some interesting reading on another Civic forum which also suggests it's one of known software bugs in Honda world.

There is a link embedded in the above that details how to update the firmware to RC8 for several models, although I believe the current version may be RC9 for our infotainment systems.

RC8 should be the latest  release.
- RC3: Kernel 3.1.10, 09.08C.00.0021/1123,
- RC4: Kernel 3.1.10, 0C.091.01.0021/1123
- RC5: Kernel 3.1.10, 0C.091.01.0021/1123
- RC6: Kernel 3.1.10, 0E.094.00.0021/1123
- RC6.1: Kernel 3.1.10, 0E.094.00.1123ada3s.20161007.221618
- RC7: Kernel 3.1.10, 0F.095.00.0021 or 0F.095.01.1123
- RC8: Kernel 3.1.10, 10.096.00.0021 or 10.096.00.1123

Would be useful  to check the kernel of one of the latest 2020 new Jazz gk3 or HRV.

@jazzaro

Thank you for the firmware summary list.  8)

Mine is the 6YH2 head unit running RC3 firmware, although I did update the 'apps' via wi-fi some time ago.

I do have a relative with a 2020 HRV so may have a look at that sometime. The update matrix I found suggests the RC8 update applies to models within the '16, 17 and 18 year range though?
