My first Honda
« on: June 27, 2021, 11:00:13 AM »
Hi everyone

Ordered a brand new Crosstar on Friday. Delivery quoted as a couple of weeks. Have already found a lot of useful information on this forum.
The one feature I didn’t like about the car was the absence of a spare wheel. All my previous cars had a spare. And to compound things it now appears it is an oddball tyre size!
Anyway, looking forward to not only my first Honda but my first hybrid.

Sadly manufacturers have been skimping on spare wheels for about twenty years. First it was space savers, then it was the bottle of goop you get nowadays. My guess is it was a way of gaming the fuel economy figures by reducing the car's weight in its standard configuration.

With a hybrid or electric car the battery has to go somewhere, and the bulk of the battery area is where the spare wheel would originally have been.
