85, I’m afraid once you get over 80, insurance quotes go through the roof, A previous post said their cheapest quote was by Saga, No way!  they wanted £1692 from me, absolutely ridiculous!
Have just renewed with my existing insurer, NFU, for far less than half that.
Been driving the best part of 70 years, without an accident that was my fault, Jazz EX, garaged, 9000 miles per year, what more do they want?

Sweet 60 and proud of it.

Feeling a bit like a cliche - newly retired and one of the first things I did was to buy a Jazz.  ;)

Hi Kenneve  I thought I would   just log on to Forum again and saw the (How Old Are You  section.)
I am now 86 years young and can almost duplicate your driving history many years driving  on military service etc  (1)no fault accident during this time  my  last Insurance quote Just over £430. This was an increase on last years  of about £100. I have been with them for a long time and intend to stay.
But the pressure is on now for us to be eliminated or so it would appear. I do think that the age to Start driving should be higher now. And should  include Motorway lessons and be part of the final Test.
But these reported incidents of older drivers  and younger ones doing such stupid things makes me think that an assessment  should be done  including  health for  ALL drivers at certain  periods  from driving test and future years this should include ALL drivers  no  exceptions.
Having seen  the actions and irresponsible  manoeuvres of  many  driver’s now it’s about time  the level of  safer driving should be improved by a suitable  regulation.

A very sensible decision on your part I am sure you will not be disappointed.
I have had many Honda jazz over the years  they have proved reliable and a very well disguised Tardis  in many ways.

Congrats at 80+ for getting even a quote from NFU!

My previous comment was made in March 23. I renewed again in March 24, still with NFU, however the cost had nearly doubled to £1267, but was still better than any of the comparison sites that I looked at.
So it looks like I will need a mortgage come next March, when I'm almost 88 ??
A good friend of mine is turned 90 and has recently paid just over £2000, much the same as a teenager who has just passed his/her test.

I have been looking at the Institute of Advanced Motorists, at taking their Advanced Driving Test, as a means of maybe reducing any future insurance premium. Has anyone any experience of the this?
The test costs £200, so it would obviously be a gamble, as to whether it was worth it.
They do however offer a free 1 hour assessment of driving skills to people of my age group, checking on whether you have developed any bad habits over the years.
I may go for this, watch this space. ;D
