Title: Found windows down!!
Post by: AndyGH on December 11, 2023, 06:12:17 PM
Hi
Car is Crossstar 2021.
I picked up my keys and wandered outside to the car and found three of the windows open (all the way down) and the car unlocked. Rear offside window still closed. Nothing missing!!
OK, I could easily have caught the unlock button on the fob but windows down!! I did notice that the windows had obviously not been open for a long time as nothing was wet inside and it had been raining an hour or so earlier.
Have I missed reading about a feature somewhere or do I have a glitch somewhere?

Andy

The windows can opened using the remote.
Press Unlock button, Press Unlock button again within 10 seconds and hold, all windows will open.
They can be closed, using the Lock button, in a similar manner.

Just been out to the car and done it, just to make sure. ;D

Probably unintentional manipulation of the keyfob. Keeping the unlock button for a few seconds opens the windows... ALL the windows!

The glitch: must be something wrong with the rear offside window...

Check the manual, page 186 https://www.honda.co.uk/cars/owners/manuals-and-guides/honda-owners-manuals/_jcr_content/par1/textcolumnwithimagem_1653971839/textColumn/richtextdownload_90f/file.res/2021%20Jazz%20Owner%60s%20Manual.pdf

If it operates the same as my HR-V and previous Jazzes:  If unlocked with a second press of the fob button, it will open the windows (and sunroof on mine).  If you leave it a while, the doors will lock again but the widows will stay open.  Consequently, the alarm may go off. Certainly will if you put your hand through the window.

The inexplicable fact remains that 1 window is NOT opened...(https://www.cheesebuerger.de/images/midi/konfus/a014.gif)

I expect that the offending window may be faulty or need resetting.

My point however was that, if the car had been in a state of "windows down" for any length of time, then the chances are that the alarm would have gone off.

...Is it a volumetric alarm?

Thanks so much for all your replies. It was obviously something I missed.
I have a vague memory of it being on the HR-V now that it was mentioned.
More care with the remote is called for!

No, Mk4 Jazz does not have interior ultrasonic sensors, its only on door/hatch/bonnet opening.

...Yeah so the alarm wouldn't necessarily have gone off.

Oh, a MK4

I thought this section was the older 2012ish hybrid
