Key fob battery replacement
« on: March 17, 2021, 12:36:34 PM »
Hi
Are there any videos etc to replace Honda key fob battery, it does not seem to work very well until quite near the car so thinking battery needed. Only 2017 model so would have thought a bit soon as never replaced one before.  Any ideas what battery fitted.   Ty

It's a 2032 (ex keyless entry fob)
Lasts about 2 years by my experience.

This is a bit slow going, but is this like your key?

When I did mine it was easy peasy. Tiny screw then it came apart very easily, then remember the battery orientation.

Just to be sure I did one, made sure it still unlocked/locked and started the car. Then a few days later did the other key.
Let's be careful out there !

A word of warning about the 'tiny screw' that Kremmen refers to. They can be extremely tight and difficult to undo, be sure that you use the correct size/type screwdriver or there is a possibilty  of knackering the screw head. Timpsons or equivalent do a replacement service, at a price.

Vic.

Good point, you do need one of those micro screwdriver sets.

I don't think the GK remotes have the little screw.

Agreed the later keys do not have a screw, see the two videos posted by sparky Paul.
