The only unusual noise I've ever noticed is in the rain when driving close to motorway roadworks barriers. It sounds like there is a pseudo hole in the lower B pillar area between the 2 nearside doors that lets sound in that bounces off the solid barrier.

No rain, no solid barrier, no problem.

Luxury carpet is heavy ,reducing mpg . You could try quality floor mats to see if that helps noise or some noise insulation laid under cheap mats as an experiment.not a proper job but I suspect anything that would make a meaningful difference would be a major dismantling job disturbing wiring..not one  I would do on a car still under warranty.

In my Jazz it’s the tyres that make a lot of noise. Driving onto a smooth “polished” tarmac road it’s very quiet compared to a road with a rougher surface . Maybe the blue earth tyres are the cause but on my 15 “ alloys on the SR model affects it too? My previous Nissan Note had 16 alloys with 185 /55  and on Michelin Premacy 4 tyres the tyre noise was much less. In my younger days you could notice the difference if you put soundproofing into your escort or mini.. winter driving was a real adventure even trying to get the engine to start…. The Jazz is on a different planet in comparison to those cars !!

Incidentally, what carpets are fitted to your vehicle?

When I ordered my EX Style, I was given the option of mats. The ones I went for are pretty dense, with a brushed wool like texture. One thing that did surprise me though, was the mats use a plastic twist key affair to hold them in position. I have never owned a car that has had this system previously.

..but this stops you using after market mats, unless you don't mind having bumps under the front edges.

This was done by Honda as I think they were sued for an enormous amount of money - in the US - of course because of an accident caused by slipping mats

I had the problem occur to me while driving a Mercedes on the motorway. Accelerator jammed, had to use brakes to control speed and get onto hard shoulder and cut ignition a pretty scary situation.

My mats are genuine Honda with part numbers. Unopened  .   I got them on ebay for under £50 from someone who had about 3 unopened  sets to sell , rather than a known Honda spares source.  (maybe he has good  contacts at a dealership )

Full Honda logos inc on packaging but they are actually made in the,Netherlands . quite possibly by the same company shown by Jazzik. I have no reason to doubt they are Honda original equipment for the European market , 

They are quite plush   but not exactly the luxury  deep pile wool carpet the aristocracy might have expected on their Rolls Royces in the 1930's.  They came  with 2 spare clips/turnbuckles that can be fitted into the passenger side floor carpet so   the mats be secured the same way as the drivers side - if you want. I didnt bother.   I think you can buy the clips separately from Honda   but IIRC they are about £9 just for clips.
I suspect if you avoid budget options a  specialist maker will be just as good  as Honda but might not include clips.  If you need them. 

TBH I cant say I noticed any difference in noise level after fitting the mats  (fronts and rears)   or indeed some rubber matting on the boot floor.   But I am happy enough with the noise and refinement level any way.
I Travelled in my Daughters reasonably new Stop /start Fiesta yesterday  and realised just how quieter and more refined the jazz is   and without all that engine stop start kerfuffle at traffic lights etc.
