Just had my best tank - 63.6 mpg (68.1 on the fibometer). I was interested in this tank in that it contained the first really long motorway stretch (about 100 miles out of 178) to get from Warrington to Kirkcudbright in Dumfries and Galloway.

70 mph cruising is not great for mpg but I was only able to do 70 mph in short bursts due to roadworks and congestion. Having got there, a fair amount of  50 to 60 mph driving.

My last 3 refills have been over 60 mpg so well pleased. In the winter I expect a drop down to mid to high 40s as you use the ICE to warm you up!

The car will be a year old on 12th October. I'll refill before then and that will give me an mpg figure for the year.

Mine is 1 year old on  6 october . Same fibometer trip from new, over  7250 miles  = 68.8 mpg.

That is fibometer. I dont measure it in real terms  when  refuelling.  I dont see the point. It is what it is.   Even if the fibometer is inaccurate its probably consistently so, which is enough to show how economically I'm driving  ,or if there is a mechanical  problem  affecting consumption.

Ours was 1 year young on 1 september. We measure in real terms https://www.spritmonitor.de/de/detailansicht/1280885.html when refueling. The fibo (A) is zeroed every fill up (to check how much it is lying average 0,2 l/100 km) and B is occasionally used for certain trips.

Actual first year fuel economy over 10040 km (6240 mi) was, to be fairly precise  :P 4,467 l/100 km = 63,237 mpg. Not too bad...  :D

That makes sense once you know, give or take, how much the fibometer is out. With me it's about 4 mpg. I just like the pie charts and graphs on the various fuel economy sites :)

I know in reality its probably only going to be 64 mpg. Still happy with that.

My Diesel Yaris managed about 64 mpg on its fibometer  but in reality may have been 60 mpg. Still quite impressive, albeit dirty diesel.  So back in the day when diesel was cheaper than petrol in most EU countries
there wouldnt have been much difference in fuel cost alone.

I wonder if the readers for whom English is not their first language, realise 'fibometer' is not a real word. Its made up.   ;D
Fib means " a  lie  , typically an unimportant one  "

We should have called it a porkiesmeter then every one would understand.  :P  (Porkies = Pork pie, cockney rhyming slang for 'lie'.  )

Yesterday after refueling our Jazz a somewhat strange experience.
The car stated an estimated range on this full tank of 1,048 kilometers (over 651 miles). That
estimated range is supposed to be based on current fuel economy.
With a stated tank capacity of 40 liters (8.8 Imp gal), our Jazz predicts an estimated consumption of 3.82 l/100 km (74 mpg).
That would set a new record: the lowest measured consumption till now was 4.0 l/100 km (70.6 mpg) on a single tank.
Very nice that our Jazzik thinks that it will be more economical than ever in the coming autumn with falling temperatures (and leaves), but...
If nothing goes right, go left!

Best I have had was 63mph, it’s averaged out though at just over 60. I’m happy with that..

I've just driven my usual 30 mile journey but very early morning.

Headlights and heater on. Normally I've been getting 60mpg since they raised the M4 speed limit but only 53mpg this morning.
Let's be careful out there !

I have parted company with my 2020 Crosstar with 9,587 miles at a claimed 74.9 mpg. However, actual mpg based on fuel into tank was 70.55 mpg so the car was 6% optimistic. mpgs on individual fill-ups ranged between 63.7 (January 2022) and 79.1 (July 2022) although these would have some error depending on how full I filled the tank.

How would you compare driving and refinement characteristics between the Crosstar and HR-V?

Latest fill up mpg's, one early to ensure completion of visitors presence without need to visit petrol station again befor their departure. Collecting visitors from airport chauffeuring around bending hills tracks of low/highlands so a good mix of motorway, urban and very country.
Not unexpectedly big dip but overall mpg from new @ 54.44

I'll post some observations in 2021 HR-V sub-forum https://clubjazz.org/forum/index.php?board=163.0 once I've collected my thoughts.
