...Obviously some people won't want to divulge such information so there's an option for them :)

I was intending to buy outright but I opted for the minimum finance package (£5k over 2 years with the option to pay it off after 7 monrhs) to qualify for the free 5 year servicing, warranty and Hondacare cover.

The small finance interest v paying for servicing was a no brainer.

I couldn't tick a vote box because I'm not fully any option.

...I think p/ex could be included in a few so not sure if it can be a standalone option.
Unless your p/ex comes to more than the cost of the new car in the first place and you get some cash back too :D

According to the responses, someone stole their example! Come on, own up.... who was it!  ;D

Kremmen, taking finance to get the benefits and then paying it off early was a smart move imho.

In the past I have paid a wedge on 0% credit cards rather than paying cash. That way I was still earning intereset on the balance. Not worth it these days though what with interest rates being so small.

You may want to add the Motobility purchase option shufty.

It's spelled Motability (a portmanteau of motor and ability): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Motability

I was P/EX & £795 cash but they gave me a £700 pack I never asked for and got £180 back on my wheel and tyre insurance for my car.

Interesting.  If we assume  all those who took finance intending to pay off early only did so  to get the servicing package and would otherwise have bought outright, thats over 70%.

UK average on new cars bought outright is less than 10% .

I turned up with the usual intention of buying outright but the salesman explained the minimum finance advantage

Looking at the top graph I'm surprised at all those missing out on the free triple 5 year bonuses.

I'll be paying off the finance after 7 months though to keep the bonus.

Looking at the terms and conditions for new finance deals with Honda it looks like you only have to finance £5,000 to get the 5 year servicing, 5 year warranty and 5 year breakdown cover.

They have also included a term that you have to pay at least 6 monthly payments before paying off the finance or they will cancel the 5 year extras.

Thats the same as it was in September.

Only just spotted this thread. I bought my Crosstar last September and chose to take the £5,000 loan with the intention to pay it off after the 6th payment. As others have said, it's a no-brainer to get the 5+5+5 package, especially as I usually pay cash anyway. Also got a good price for my trade-in.

Was going to pay cash outright but my dealer pointed out that by taking Honda Finance I could get the 5 year service/warranty deal. So I took minimum £5k finance and will pay it off after making 6 payments.

+1 for the minimum finance package, paying off in full at month 7.

The 5 year servicing and 5 year AA cover was too tempting.   I'm also P/ex'ing my 2012 Jazz in the deal.

Did you do this recently? I'm hoping to do the same. I saw in the website T&C, they say "Maximum customer deposit 30%". I wonder if it was added recently or always been there.

I don't know when the deal was set up by Honda, but I signed the deposit paperwork last month (March 22).

The 30% maximum deposit is if you take a PCP plan for finance. If you take their HP finance plan which is still 5% apr
You can put down what you like against the new one. I used the full £16,900 value of my Arona using the HP plan to get the service and warranty deal with my new SR at the beginning of March. I’ll pay it off in October.

Just completed the purchase of my SR on Tuesday and like a lot of others adopted the HP finance minimum £5K with the intention of paying off early in 7 months, thereby getting the 5 year service plan.  I had arranged part exchange, but ended up selling my 2015 Jazz in advance to Evans Halshaw as I have already reported.

I just ordered a SR with part exchange and HC for the 5 year servicing. I think they have changed the offer? It is now only 5 Year servicing, no 5 year warranty or roadside assistance.

From the website it looks like they have dropped the third 5 - it used to be 5%, 5 year servicing and 5 year warranty,

I had to buy those myself as I didn't know about the £5k small finance balance trick.

There was a fee of around £800 IIRC to upgrade the standard 3 year warranty to 5 years with roadside cover.

The cancelling at 6 mths stage is very straight forward. I got a reminder call from the dealer, and single quick call to Honda finance UK got final cost over the phone and email with details to allow online payment. No tricks, hardsell, multiple transfers, nor joy of  se asian  call centre. Found the whole finance experience ( my first) to be painless and trustworthy.
On forums for other brands was advice on cancelling early with required legalise and takes of blowback from dealership than loose finance commission.

Prices up to £24,600 for a plain EX now with metallic paint - the configurator doesn't even offer any finance at the moment at all.

They still list offers at 6.9% interest and a 5 year service pack included... but no 5 year warranty any more, so you are left in years 4 and 5 with a car out of warranty. But you can't customise the finance offer, so maybe it doesn't exist?

After my 6 dealer visits and £2,300 failed warranty repair I wouldn't run one without the warranty.

First post on here though I've been on previous, Civiv, Jazz and HR-V forums. I have just ordered a premium sunlight white EX. Due Mid April. Went the £5k HP and pay off after 6 months route - it is a no brainer pay £94 interest over 6 months but gain £500 cashback and £699 five year service.
Only 3 years Warranty now but if you pay £370 up front you get the extra 2 years.  Apparently if you wait till the end of Year 3 to extend it will cost you £300 a year (i.e. £600) at today's prices. So I've bought that.

I bought through Carwow.  One dealer gave me a much bigger discount than 4 others and my local dealer - my local dealer wouldn't even share the difference so I have gone with the dealer from Carwow who will provide free delivery (on a transporter) as well.

Are  you sure the extension to the 3 year warranty  is from Honda, and not Carwow.  Not that it makes much difference.  Even the Honda 5 year warranty is administered and presumably underwritten, by an independent warranty provider  (despite  the Honda logos on the paperwork)

As far as I know it is Honda, (could be the dealership but very unlikely to be Carwow)

£25,700 for the Premium Sunlight White Pearl.  That's on the UK Honda website. Interesting to see how the price for exactly the same Jazz differs per country:

Here, on the Polish Honda website in Premium Sunlight White Pearl, using today's exchange rate £ 21,750
On the German Honda website in Premium Sunlight White Pearl, using today's exchange rate £ 24,590
On the Dutch Honda website in Premium Sunlight White Pearl, using today's exchange rate £ 31,680
On the Belgian Honda website in Premium Sunlight White Pearl, using today's exchange rate £ 25,507
On the Danish Honda website in Premium Sunlight White Pearl, using today's exchange rate £ 31,450
On the French Honda website in Premium Sunlight White Pearl, using today's exchange rate £ 24,590
etc. etc.

The difference between cheapest (Poland) and most expensive (Holland): almost a whopping £ 10,000  :o    Taxes, taxes, taxes....   >:(

Oh... and we paid for the Jazz in cash 16 months ago, after selling the Toyota Yaris for an incredibly high price after more than 4 years.

I think it depends which model you're after as I know there are SRs being delivered at the end of this month - I only ordered in December.

Apparently the UK prices went up mid-December, including the cost of extras/paint finishes.
