If you like the sound of horns then you should go to New Dehli.  I went here of several occasions through business and have never experienced driving like it.

As a cost comparison, I asked an Indian colleague how much a driving licence would cost. It came to the equivalent of about £15.00 which I thought was quite expensive until he told me that it was a lot cheaper if you took a driving test  :o

Have you seen this? TopGear did a film on the Indian driving test. :D

Look at all the lovely Hindustan Ambassadors on the roads. I wonder what it would like these days? A lot more modern vehicles about I suspect.

Some people will only consider you an expert if they agree with your point of view or advice,  when you give them advice they don't like they consider you an idiot

Thank you for the link, much appreciated. What a great read about such an iconic car.  ;)

Peugeot may well build a car with same styling cues ( like BMW did with Mini and Fiat with the 500 ) and put a reliable engine in it.

The Ambassador was given an Isuzu engine in the early 90's https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hindustan_Ambassador . However, much of the rest of the vehicle remained as designed in the 50's.

There was a firm in Wales about 15yrs ago that imported the Ambassador to the UK. Only ran for a year or two, so I guess the uptake wasn't great. I've certainly never seen one on the roads.

The Indian Express article stated that specialist garages existed that would finish new cars for customers. Tighten bolts and weld where the factory had missed !!  ;D Quality control was a bit lacking by all accounts.

Peugeot 504 is big in Africa, and Hillman Hunter/Singer Vogue/that style is big in Iran.

They already did. Remember this?
