I only use the handbrake if I think it will take a little longer at a traffic light. Having to press the brake pedal with my foot for a long time is not pleasant.

Isn't it (much!) easier to switch on Brake Hold in busy urban traffic...?
Yes, now that you mention it, I think it is indeed more convenient. I'll try it out again. I just have to remember to turn it off again when I drive into the car wash.

Plasma........When I bought my MK4 in May last year, it came with a gratis, shiny, handbook.

Did you not get one?

Can you not beg, borrow, or steal one; from your supplying dealer?
Yes it did come with a handbook,I find the book very poor, how ever maybe Im be coming a bit of a pest asking questions all the time , so sorry,I will try to work it out my self. Thanks for all the help, this is the second time it’s been said ,so I will take the hint and go away.

...Nah just keep asking your questions, people don't have to read or answer if they don't want.

Ask as many questions as you like, that's what a forum is for, helping each other.
It will be alright in the end, if it's not alright then it's not the end !

Please stay!
Moreover: Please feel free to ask as many questions as you like! - The forum imho lives from q&a.

(As a new member to this forum myself, I have noticed that some of the "residents" seem to forget they weren't born "savants" but had to learn and be educated themselves sometime - I won't let it deter me, as I generally find the forum a "fountain of knowledge and wisdom")  ;)

Yeah, ask away. It's a free forum!  ;D

some of the "residents"
Ooooh, and when does one qualify as being a "resident"? I still consider myself somewhat of a newbie after 3yrs and a few posts!  :D
