At 76 I paid £210 this year.
Always use comparison websites.

My last Yaris renewal quote from LV was up a huge amount, can't remember exactly but around 85%. Ended up with Aviva for about 25% more than the previous LV year, vaguely reasonable by current standards.
From what I recall, increases last summer were said to be typically 60%, probably more now.
Interestingly my multi-bike policy with 4 bikes all relatively high groupings actually went down last August.

I'm 72 this year that's probably why my premium has gone up 72%.

If you read these blogs I think you will find out that type of increase is pretty general, irrespective of age.
The thing that annoys me is the wife no longer drives so I am the only driver and the premium goes through the roof.
It doesn't make any sense to me

why not keep her license live and put her down as a named driver?
the fact that she doesn't drive is irrelevant

That's what I have done for the last couple of years.

I understand why you would do that, and I have also in the past. The problem is every time I have used them the quote has far exceeded my renewal. My insurance is not up for renewal until July, so I’ll just have to wait and see. I am with LV with 2 cars and they have always been brilliant.

Update
Went onto the comparison website, quite a few quotes cheaper than my insurance company.
Phoned them and told them that I had got a cheaper quote. Told them how much and then bettered it by about £4:00.
Saved just over £50:00.
I suppose they would rather loose a few pounds than a customer completely.

The insurance premium horror story must be for  Land Rover vehicles, they are expensive vehicles and top of the list for theft, 1% risk of theft per annum is being quoted,  I met an an owner paying £700 per annum who found his automatic renewal premium change to nearly £8000 per annum, some companies are declining to insure Land Rovers in cities such as London, the cost of insurance means high depreciation  of Land Roversand  is hitting hard the owners and leasing companies, a factory campaign offering a new security system free of charge is in progress
