Just had to replace a drop link due to split rubber, however do they need to be replaced as pairs like certain brake/suspension components.
Searching the internet some say yes some say doesn't matter.

I just replaced one, then a couple of years later replaced the second. It is just a metal bar to link two pieces. Changing as a pair isn't necessary.
