Fit hybrid 2015
« on: November 28, 2023, 10:47:12 AM »
Hi guys I'm looking to buy a fit hybrid, I've seen a fit 2015.
I've read a lot about the fit/jazz 2015 models being unreasonable and expensive to repair with lots of things going wrong.

My question is;
Does this apply to the hybrid version too?

For reference this is a link to what I'm thinking of buying.

Thanks in advance!

I wonder where you read this... maybe a (few) link(s)?
If nothing goes right, go left!

What I'd rather know is people on here who have the 2015, have you actually experienced problems?

As there is also a lot of stuff on the net saying the hybrid battery only lasts 100,000 or 10 years before needing replacement which worried me, but then after finding this forum website it's clear it's not something to worry about.

There is so much negative information out there, that doesn't seem to be from people who have actually owned theese cars.

The source of these faults are scrapped off the web.

How are you going to check this particular vehicle history for damage insurance write off undeclared history

Why choose Fit ? You need to see the Japanese mileage guarantee certificate as well as the auction schedule.

Search around for Jazz UK cars locally with MOT etc history  to check & verify.

Sorry, by scrapped off the web do you mean they're an unreliable source?

AutoTrader do an in depth check for all those things mentioned in conjunction with Experian for £20, I was going to do this once I've had some advice from everyone here on the forum if deemed it is suitable to go ahead this particular model.

I've chosen the Fit because they have a better interior and spec for less cost than the jazz UK model.

The seller has said he has all the Japanese documentation whe he can go through once viewing the car.

For several years the Mk 2 Jazz hybrid was rated by Which? as the UK's most reliable small car. They are capable of high mileages (see https://clubjazz.org/forum/index.php?topic=4978.msg21584#msg21584 and https://clubjazz.org/forum/index.php?topic=11012.msg70117#msg70117). However, the oldest of the UK models of this vehicle family have now reached 12 years so general age-related deterioration will be setting in. And they will be vulnerable to CVT judder if the CVT fluid hasn't been changed sufficiently frequently but is reversible. I recall that Honda changed the recommended interval from 4 years to 2 years in 2013.
