Engine temperature gauge. Advice please
« on: August 19, 2018, 03:54:57 AM »
Hi, I've got an automatic honda jazz 2006. The car has a digital engine temperature gauge. The digits keep going up even when I leave the car overnight and start the engine in the morning I find the same last night's reading and then starts to go up and so on.
Your advice deeply appreciated.

If your car has a digital temperature gauge in is not a Honda part. Someone has retrofitted it. The Mk 1 Jazz only has a Blue (engine cold) and Red (engine overheating) warning light.

Any chance of some pics?

The Jazz doesn't normally have a temp gauge, just a couple of warning lights.

The Jazz has a digital outside temperature gauge but that doesn't operate the way described.

If Yasir is mistaking the outside temperature gauge for an engine temperature gauge (could do if the reading is way up) then it sounds like an open circuit sensor. Either the sensor is faulty, or more likely the cable has become unplugged.

...or possibly if it's reading in °F?
