Amateur Spacemen
« on: June 10, 2022, 08:14:40 PM »
My grandson and his mates have formed a band and posted their first video.

I think they are very professional but then grandad would. They write their own music and Liam (on the right) even built his own guitar. I had built a few so I guided him through the process but he did the work. He even wired up the electrics from a circuit I drew for him.

Glad you liked them. I thought it was very professional. His younger brother is a much better guitarist and my step-grandson is a whizz. He won the East Lothian Young Solo Performer of the Year. He then went forward to the Scottish final. He didn't win but acquitted himself very well. Corey had started out playing heavy metal, eventually playing an eight-string monster, before getting a taste for classical guitar. It is that genre that has seen him progress as well as he has. And he is still at school.

Corey playing in the final.

I gave Corey's big brother, Rhys, a guitar and amp at about the same age and as you cannot give one without the other, I gave Corey a beat-up 3/4 scale acoustic. Rhys never took to the guitar so after a few years Corey purloined it, and the rest is history.
