06 jazz output bearing question?
« on: October 18, 2020, 03:36:05 AM »
I was going to take it to a Honda pro to see if any other problems but he may have covid.

Now I'm trying to find the input bearing for my car and all I can find are 2 bearings with and oil seal.     Is this correct?
On ebay its about 38 pounds for the set.

If anyone has done this job before how much did they pay for the input bearing kit.

Are any specialist tools a standard mechanic shop would not have to remove the old bearings.

I know with a standard input shaft bearing you just tap it out.

The bearings in the kit are different sizes so not sure if they tap out as one or need to be pulled.

Would Honda be cheaper on trade discount?

Does the common bearing problem effect one or both?

The guy willing to replace my input bearing and clutch if needed for an amazing price said I have to get the bearings myself.

He will put gearbox oil in free of charge (what viscosity is bulk mecanic gearbox oil usually and is it decent quality if anything like bulk mechanic engine oil.   Well I have not seen bulk semi synthetic for a long tine? Or should I bring my own oil.  Some people swear by a product cally mollysomethibg or other as a gearbox addative. About 10 pounds    is it worth putting a molly addative in or just leave it.

Yes. You just tap it out. Into the gearbox after removing the input shaft.
