Honda jazz 2004/5 1.4 needs work
« on: September 12, 2019, 01:33:26 PM »
So we have just brought a 2004 early 2005 module of the Honda jazz. She is a 1.4 engine I believe. There is a few thing needs doing of someone can help advice me. I'm not a mechanic but am will to try anything and have a reasonable good knowledge of cars.

1st job. Needs a new rear wheel bearing (disc). Is there a specific tork the wheel nut needs to be done at?

2nd job. Need a belt change, AC included. Is there a ok job to do or a pain in the ass one?

3rd job. Needs a new back box. Looks simple enough but double checking.

4th job. Now she is running a little tappy, not over the top but clearly noticeable. I haven't don't an oil change or anything yet but was wondering if it's would flushing the engine first or maybe adjusting the tappets or anything???

Please answer with details on what to do and how please.

Thank you

Jazz is not known for needing the tappets adjusted. Do you only notice it when the engine is cold (normal) or all the time.
Don't over tighten the middle to back box flange. It is designed to flex and if you over tighten you get premature failures.

Good manual here: http://www.hondafitjazz.com/manual.html
and more info here: https://www.parts-honda.uk/honda-cars/JAZZ

Second site is great for exploded diagrams. Lets you see what goes where.
