Just got my insurance renewal quote from LV for HONDA JAZZ EX I-MMD E-HEV AUTO, Comprehensive cover, 9 years No Claim Discount. QUOTE = £684.77 Last year was £553.58 but that was for a 2006 Mazda 3. Anyway that is a 23.7% increase :o. Will check for better deals elsewhere but not hopeful. You get what you pay for and LV get good reviews from Which? etc.

Similar to me. I moved to Flow (which is now Allianz). Dropped by £200.

A bit of good news for a change. After changing my insurance from Direct line in 22 because they had nearly doubled my quote (even though I had been with them for a few years and never had a claim), I moved to the online Flow. Brought it back down to around £20 above the previous years DL policy. Well, just had my 24/25 policy renewal quote, and now Flow have been acquired by Allianz I expected a significant hike.... but no! New quote, only £18 dearer than the previous year (£348)
All the same perks that I had with DL, fully comp on a 72 EX Style for a pair of 62 year olds with a full NCB.

When Aviva nearly doubled my premium for the eNiro to £550 I went onto 'Go.Compare' and managed to get the same cover from Tesco, a pukka insurance company, run by Tesco Bank, not an 'add on' like the banks and John Lewis For £385. Not bad for a FULL EV!!
And I got clubcard points and 10% discount for being a clubcard member and a free car wash with IMO every month, worth £105 over the year. (I use. IMO all the time anyway) EQUALS Full Comp, NCB protected for £280 NO BRAINER!! ;D

When I switched from Direct Line I went onto GoCompare and LV came out as one of the cheapest and I've now got a policy with them. Just goes to show loyalty doesn't pay when it comes to insurance.

DL have been rip off merchants for ages

My house was insured through them for many years. I thought nothing of the annual price rise as it was fairly small

When they tried to auto renew from £400 to £800 I shopped around and a friend, being a broker, worked out a personalised policy for £200. We had no bikes, no jewelry, didn't want other things DL chucked in regardless to boost the price

When I contacted DL to tell them not to auto renew they got shirty and asked why I hadn't negotiated with them

I told Mr Snotty that £800 when the market price was £200 didn't deserve any negotiation
Let's be careful out there !
