makes them sound rather more up market, especially if you are charging them out at £120+ per hour.

say mechanic, think grease monkey
say technician, think highly trained & educated.

They used to call them fitters.  Parts had to be hand fettled  to make them fit.  Especially on British cars.   Hence the old  slang term 'Birmingham screwdriver' (a hammer)

With 'Technicians' I tend to think, if the computer says no, they're stumped.  :-[

Technician: not the one who, for example, replaces the brake pads, he is the mechanic.
Technician: the guy (or as with our dealer: woman) who walks around with the laptop to help the mechanic locate a problem. (She also has a USB stick with all the latest updates in a desk drawer).
She seems to be a real computer freak. In addition, she is also a nice lady...

Diesel fitter. Diesel fit if I file them. Diesel fit if I hammer them.

The latest news from Honda. There was some error in the software stored there from previous actuator failure. They cleared it out, and now it works, but they are still checking it out. From 09.26 yesterday...Still not totally convinced it was the actuators though. Any thoughts anyone?

I can believe one actuator but not three. Sounds reasonable that something needed to be reset after the failure. I think they have over engineered the solution and you should ask for 50% back at least!

Jazz now home after 22 days !! Superlocking works OK. You do wonder whether a software reset would have worked. Like it does on a misbehaving phone !! I have the old actuators,  and I'll have them tested.
I did approach the main dealer about a contribution to my costs from Honda UK.
We'll see...
My advice to anyone who has a door problem like mine is to get the software looked at first. You never know...
