Title: Engine Oil
Post by: guest7188 on November 18, 2017, 12:04:38 PM
I recently bought a 2016 Jazz 1.3 SE. What grade of oil and brands are people using. The manufacturer states Ow-20 but this is often hard to source here in Ireland. What other grades have people used and feedback would be appreciated. Thanks.

I use Castrol Magnatec 5W-30 and have done in all my Honda engines and they all covered many miles (used to cover over 25,000 miles a year - my first Civic covered 190,000 miles without a spanner on the engine except for cambelt change).   You may get 0.001%  better mpg with 0W-20 but even that is debatable.

Plenty of opinions on oil on the forum just search 'engine oil'

Fully synthetic 5/30 A5. As mentioned in the cars handbook. Mercedes, BMW,  and Vauxhalls also use this oil.

Any of the 0w/5W > 20W/30W synthetics will be fine.
Frequency of change is probably more beneficial than brand.

I use 0w-30 and wait for an abnormally large discount from Carparts4Less/ECP/others before I buy.. My last Purchase was 4 Liters of Castrol Edge 0w-30 in October for £29.09  from ECP..

Log your Jazz details into OPIE oils then choose.
