Oil changes obviously not necessary on a Honda!

It probably ran out of petrol, the gauge was on the stop!  ;)

I used to work with a guy who ran ageing Datsuns. He was very proud of the fact that he never serviced or cleaned his cars. At the MOT he would put right any issues but no oil change, no new filters. I seem to remember he asked his MOT guy to "top up" the oil if necessary.

It was incredible how his cars almost never broke down!

They said at beginning they would drain oil and coolant out of all three cars..

That was same model as my first Civic that did 190,000 miles ( without a spanner on engine,  transmission or suspension, still same wheel bearings, clutch, alternator and brake calipers,  had proper unequal double wishbone front suspension as well, tyres wore absolutely evenly  ) and still did not use any oil between changes.  The only things it needed was normal wearing parts, front brake pads and rear shoes ( rear shoes at 120,000 and a rear silencer box ). What a car that was. Oh and it had a new cambelt at 60, 120 and 180,000 miles.

Some people will only consider you an expert if they agree with your point of view or advice,  when you give them advice they don't like they consider you an idiot
